Herbert Batista has already gone from being a promise of Brazilian MMA to becoming a great reality. Unbeaten for 10 fights, the fighter is going through one of the best phases of his career. Born in Manaus-AM, the fighter has almost 20 professional fights in his career. Nicknamed Matagal, the fighter who became Taura's lightweight champion last year revealed that the speed and courage inside the cage has come a long time:
- My nickname came from when I was a child. Whenever my friends and I went to play ball, we had to go a long way to get to the field. But I always searched faster than them because I entered the middle of the scrub to be able to get there, something that many of them lacked courage (laughs). Hence the name of Matagal!
Passing through several events on the national scene, Herbert still has victories in international events such as ACB and League S-70. Taura MMA lightweight champion when beating Lucio "Curado" in the eighth edition of the event, the athlete showed why he is a complete athlete, dominating the rival in all areas to win the title. Asked about the importance of this achievement in his career, Matagal believes that he is ready to face any opponent in the organization's cage:
- That title meant a lot. It showed me that I am ready to fight with any great athlete - finished the fighter.
